I hope you’re staying cool in the hot weather!
Before we dive into our tarotscopes this week, I need to share some big, exciting news…
After quite literally months of planning, and percolating and testing, I’ve finally released So, you just got your first tarot deck – A Tarot Foundations Course.
If you’ve just picked up a tarot deck or you’ve been dabbling for a while but are wanting a solid foundation to build upon, this course is for you!
It’s a pre-recorded video course (so you can do it at your own pace), jam packed with information and exercises to help you understand the tarot, connect with your cards, and find that sweet spot between knowing the foundation, and trusting your intuition.
Along with the course itself, you get my Tarot Card Cheat Sheet, and access to one Tarot Lab Office Hours session where you can ask questions, get feedback, and share interpretations.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming.
Our deck this week is the Lost Hollow Tarot by Pixel Occult. I absolutely love the art style of this deck (and all of Pixel Occult’s decks, to be honest).
Upcoming:
Thursday, July 9th @ 7pm EDT – Practice Lab (Difficult Cards)
It’s hard to believe we’re already talking about July, but next month’s Tarot Practice Lab is all about the “difficult” or “scary” cards and how we can read them in a way that is honest, accurate, but empowering instead of doom and gloom.

A little magic (and a few updates) to help each sign navigate the week with clarity and confidence.

The Hermit: Make time to intentionally retreat this week. It is time to disconnect from the constant hustle and bustle of the outside world so that you are finally able to hear yourself think. Reflect, contemplate, and do a little soul-searching. Many of the answers you are currently seeking already lie deep within you, but you have to create the quiet space necessary to hear them.
Challenge: Put your phone, computer, and tablet on “Do Not Disturb” for at least half an hour every day this week. Spend that time journaling, meditating, or sitting in quiet reflection without any digital distractions.
Strength: Tune into inner strength, resilience, and fortitude. Know that you can overcome whatever life throws your way right now, but remember that strength and power don’t have to be loud. Give yourself a little compassion and a lot of grace. When the inner lion comes out roaring with big emotions or frustration, have the strength it takes to pause, listen, and be kind to yourself.
Challenge: The next time you feel frustrated or overwhelmed this week, pause for three deep breaths and repeat a comforting affirmation to yourself, such as: “I am strong, I am resilient, and I treat myself with kindness.”
The Hierophant: There’s a big part of you that always wants to do things your own way, and honestly, sometimes that’s exactly the path you need to take. But this week, try following the conventional path. Play by the rules, respect established traditions, and do what is expected of you. You’ll find a much easier flow of success by not trying to reinvent the wheel just yet. Learn the wisdom of the structure now, and make it your own another day.
Challenge: Identify one routine, rule, or traditional method in your work or daily life that you usually resist. Commit to following it strictly to the letter this week and observe how it streamlines your energy.
Queen of Swords: It’s time to get straight to the point. Do not beat around the bush, sugarcoat your words, or waste precious time second-guessing decisions you already know are right for you. Be radically honest with yourself and others, and use your keen sense of perception to slice right through any mental fog. If you need to draw a line in the sand, do so without wavering.
Challenge: Have that direct conversation or make that decision you’ve been putting off. State your boundary or choice clearly, honestly, and without over-explaining yourself.
Five of Wands: Frustration might boil up this week, especially when you find yourself feeling unseen or unheard. You may feel like you’re constantly competing for attention, or trying to share brilliant ideas that seem to fall on deaf ears. Remember, this friction is not a reflection of your worth. Instead of shrinking back, speak a little louder, be assertive, and confidently take on a leadership role so that you are seen exactly the way you need to be.
Challenge: Speak up first in a meeting, group chat, or family discussion this week. Confidently share an idea or opinion without minimizing it or apologizing for taking up space.
Six of Pentacles: Take a close look at the relationship between giving and receiving currently present in your life. If you have abundance or resources don’t hesitate to share, whether that looks like your time, money, energy, or expertise. Share freely and without expectation. Conversely, if you are the one who needs help, be open to actually lowering your guard and receiving it with genuine grace and gratitude.
Challenge: Balance the scales this week. Either perform a random, anonymous act of kindness for someone else, or intentionally ask a friend for help with something you’ve been struggling to do alone.
Nine of Swords: Don’t let fear and anxiety run the show. You may find that your thoughts are temporarily preoccupied with doubt, worst-case scenarios, and internal struggle, but you have the power to choose not to feed those narratives. Give yourself permission to release the thoughts instead of spiraling into them. If it helps, purge them by journaling, talking to someone, or a physical representation of letting them out.
Challenge: Whenever an anxious thought takes hold this week, write it down on a piece of paper to get it out of your head, then physically rip it up or throw it away as a symbol of releasing its power over you.
Princess of Wands: Adventure and fresh experiences are knocking loudly at your door. If you’ve been feeling stuck in a rut or waiting for a sign to shake things up, this is it. Say a resounding yes to something new! Pursue your dreams and ambitions boldly this week, even if you’re feeling a little nervous or unqualified to get started. That spark of excitement is your green light.
Challenge: Do one thing this week purely because it both excites you and scares you a little bit, like signing up for a new class, pitching a bold idea, or trying a hobby you know nothing about.
Five of Swords: Conflict and tension are close at hand this week. You might find yourself at odds with someone in your life, or perhaps fighting an exhausting internal battle. Remember, with this specific kind of petty warfare, there are truly no winners or victories; only frustrating and burned bridges. Do whatever you need to do to protect and save your own peace. It’s okay to put down the sword.
Challenge: If you find yourself being dragged into an argument or power struggle this week, choose to walk away.
Princess of Pentacles: Invest your time and energy into planting fresh, new seeds for your future. Know that you don’t have to have it all figured out to take that very first step. Trust in your capability and know that you will learn the necessary skills as you go. Abundance requires action; nothing can grow in your garden if you never actually plant the seed.
Challenge: Take the absolute smallest, easiest micro-step toward a long-term goal this week (like buying the notebook, researching the website, or writing down the outline) just to get the momentum moving.
The High Priestess: Get comfortable with the fact that you won’t have all the answers right now, and that is completely okay. Instead of obsessively focusing on trying to figure everything out logically, trust your intuition and inner guidance to navigate the dark. Be open to experiencing, feeling, and learning from the beautiful mysteries in the world around us.
Challenge: When faced with a decision this week, skip the pros-and-cons list. Close your eyes, tune into your gut feeling, and let your first instinct guide your next move.
Queen of Cups: This week is prime time for nurturing yourself and filling your own cup (especially before you completely deplete your resources trying to fill the cups of everyone else). Trust yourself to recognize when you need to step back for self-care. It isn’t selfish; it is absolutely necessary. Be sure to lead with your heart, and listen closely to your inner voice.
Challenge: Block out one uninterrupted hour on your calendar this week strictly for me time. Treat it like an unchangeable appointment to do something that replenishes your heart or soul.
